Introducing the Traffic Avalanche Strategy

Do you want more traffic?

I’m sure you do!

It can be quite difficult for smaller blogs to get traction and attract the traffic they deserve.

In this course, you’ll learn how to dramatically ramp up traffic to your blog.

I’ve tried this strategy twice, some years apart. Each time, the effect was amazing. The interesting thing about the Traffic Avalanche Strategy is that you can achieve the avalanche with just one post – if you know how to go about it.

It takes work to create a special avalanche post, but it’s worthwhile.

A few months ago, I used the Traffic Avalanche Strategy when I decided to start a blog on AlistBlogging.net. You can see the result in the chart below.

Traffic surge 2.001

I went from 240 to 1280 daily visitors in a single week. The avalanche post I created was called 33 Top Blogging Tips By Spectacular Bloggers.

It was the second time I’ve used this strategy with a strong result. The first time was on GoodlifeZEN.com and the resulting post catapulted the blog into orbit!

The post is called The Ultimate Personal Growth Guide: 100 Best Posts.

The blog got a huge traffic surge. But not only that.

Even now, the post I created on GLZ is still pulling in daily visitors because it is ranked no. 1 for the keyword ‘personal growth guide’  on Google. In total, the post has pulled in over 38,000 visitors to my blog over the years.

This shows the value of creating avalanche posts. You get rewarded twice.

The first reward is the immediate traffic avalanche and subscriber growth after publishing the post, and the second reward is the ongoing traffic that the post pulls in over the years.

As you can see, I’ve used this strategy twice.

What do these two avalanche posts have in common?

Obviously, both posts are list posts. But not every list post will act as an avalanche post.

In order to create a social media storm that gives you the traffic avalanche, you need to ensure that it will be widely circulated. The best way is to have the post shared by bloggers named in the post.

What we’re aiming for are vanity posts. These are posts that are excellent resources for our readers and are willingly shared by the bloggers you name, as well as by their loyal fans.

As we delve deeper into the strategy, I’ll discuss which kind of avalanche post has the highest success rate.

There’s an art to preparing an avalanche post. Do it wrong, and you’ll get no rewards from your work.

However, if you follow this course step-by-step, you can be sure of success.

In order to get the Traffic Avalanche Strategy to achieve maximum results, there are a few things you’ll need to do in preparation. I’ll lead you through each of these steps as you go through this course.

There are four main steps in creating and implementing the Traffic Avalanche Strategy.

Step 1: Create a Traffic Net

Getting traffic to your blog is a buzz! But if this traffic doesn’t convert into subscribers, you’ve lost a great opportunity.

In order to get the most out of this strategy, you need to convert traffic into subscribers.

You need a net to catch the traffic. The most effective net consists of an opt-in gift, an autoresponder, and a special plugin to display the opt-in form.

If you’ve already created an opt-in gift (which is sometimes called a ‘lead magnet’), you may want to consider creating a new one, according to tests I’ve done to see which kind of opt-in gift gives you the highest conversion rates. The good news is that you can create the kind that converts well in just a few hours!

Setting up your traffic net is covered in Module 2. The expected time frame for step 1 is about 7 days.

Step 2: Determine the topic of your avalanche post

This is a crucial step and needs due consideration.

Step 3: Set up your research and analysis systems

In order to make the avalanche post work, you need to do a lot of research and capture the results of your research in a system that you’ll set up.

You’ll also need to collect data to get a baseline reading of your current traffic level.

Steps 2 and 3 will be covered in Module 3 and will take about 3 days to action.

Step 4: Research

This is the most time-consuming step of the Traffic Avalanche Strategy. It may take up to 14 days to complete it. How to do the research will be covered in Module 4.

Step 5: Setting up the avalanche post

Once you’ve completed your research, it’s time to set up the avalanche post. This will take 2 or 3 days and we’ll cover how to get the best results in Module 5.

Step 6: Pre-release preparation

In order to strike immediately after the post goes live, you need to prepare many emails to go out directly after publishing. Expect to take up to 3 days to complete this step.

Step 7: Post-release boost

Once the post is published, there are some steps you need to take as soon as possible in order to get the full traffic flow. This will take you 1 day to complete.

Steps 6 and 7 will be covered in module 6.

All in all, expect it to take at least 30 days to complete the strategy.

But when is the best time to use the Traffic Avalanche Strategy?

I’ll cover that in the next lesson…
